Shops to Love on Etsy

I could spend hours looking, searching and getting lost in the world of Etsy. There are so many lovely shops and amazing gifted people in this world, it is so nice to see it all come together. After having my own little clothing line for almost 8 years, I know and respect all the work that goes into making handmade goods. Not only do you have to design, but market and sell your creations as well and it’s no easy task- that is why it is so important to support all these little businesses. Today, I share with you 4 of my favorite kids clothing shops on Etsy.

METTE is based out of Vancouver and Kristin, the designer, is simply lovely. Her dresses are comtemporary yet reminiscent of the past. Her silhouettes are basic with a flair. Her fabrics are mordern, bold, and fresh, all at the same time. I particularly love her capelets- these will dress-up any outfit. Everything is handmade in small numbers with lots of love.

KoKoKo this little shop, situated all the way in Russia, is filled with some lovely items- from ceramics, to brooches and clothing. I love the simplicity in the cut of the clothing, the choice of fabric as well as the colors and all the details that make this line so very special. Sometimes the simpler, the better.

Harriet’s Haberdashy is simply the sweetest Etsy shop arround- a collaboration between mother and daughters, inspired my their little Harriet. You will only find the finest and natural fibers in this shop and everything is handmade, in the US, in small quantities. You will want to pay close attention to all the little details that go into making these baby and kids clothes, as they are lovely and full of surpises. I love the mix and match of the fabric and colors. Just all too sweet.

Fleur and Dot is also from the US. Expect to find vintage inspired styles with a modern feel in bold patterns and colors. The collections are always fun and full of whimsy, I just love the retro feel. And how adorable is the styling and photos? This little girl is so precious.

These are just a few of my favorites, you know I’ll be back with many more! In the mean time take some time to explore the wonderful world of Etsy.

Until next time,

Celina

Eat your fruits!

Do you have a hard time getting your kids to eat their fruits and veggies? I do! Well at least with my son- he is very particular about the fruits he will eat. My daughter on the other hand could eat fruits all day. Veggies, well that’s for an other post!

As I start discovering the spring and summer kids collections, I can’t help notice a trend towards some very fruity colors and prints- expect to see lots of bright oranges and yellows this summer as well as hot pinks and intense shades of green.

One of my favorite spanish brands- Bobo Choses, has come out with the most wonderful and fruity collection. Every season they come up with a theme, and this time around it is called ”Petit Grocery”. You will find lot’s of great graphic tees with oranges, lemons and tomatoes, many cute all over prints with all of the same fruits. A nice little trip to the grocery store, all over your clothes! Mini Boden has a  fruity selection as well. I thought the lemon t-shirt was colorful and fun; they also have a great apples and pear bathing suit. I have to say their summer collection is quite exciting with lots of fun prints and high in color- definitely something to check out.

The crochet fruit necklace is from Wunway. I adore everything in this online store- from the clothes to the shoes and accessories. I can’t wait to see what more they will stock for spring.

How lovely is that pear sweatshirt? Those colors put together works so well. This little Etsy shop, Internaht, has a few fruit options I think you will love.

Lastly, if you are the crafty kind and would like to sew your own fruit stripe skirt, Skirt As Top has a simple and easy tutorial you should try. You can make a watermelon, lime, strawberry or orange skirt ( the one pictured above). These make for great summer skirts, don’t you think?

I’m thinking If these don’t get your kids to love and eat their fruits, then what will?

All of this is making me hungry…
